Coconuts and MCT oil

What is MCT oil and how to use the oil?

MCT oil (medium chain triglyceride oil), is a type of oil that consists of medium-chain fatty acids. These fatty acids are quickly metabolized in the liver and can provide quick energy to the body. MCT oil has become popular in certain diets, such as the ketogenic diet, where the aim is to increase the intake of healthy fats for, among other things, energy. MCT oil is sometimes also used in coffee to give an extra energy boost.

Here are some reasons why you might choose to drink MCT oil in your coffee:

Ketogenic diet: MCT oil is a type of fat that can be quickly converted into ketones in the liver. Ketones are an alternative fuel for the body when it is in ketosis, which is the state where the body burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. Combining coffee with MCT oil can support ketone production and be beneficial for those following a ketogenic diet.

Increased energy: MCT oil provides quick energy because it is quickly metabolized in the liver and goes directly to energy production. Adding MCT oil to coffee can provide an energy boost without raising blood sugar levels.

Some people experience increased mental clarity and focus when they combine coffee with MCT oil. This may be due to increased production of ketones and their positive effects on brain function.
